I have an American Pit Bull Terrier that is a sweet, lovable dog in every way, except he had some issues with people entering the house. Mark came over, observed, and almost immediately solved the problem. Some 'professionals' told me that due to his breed Otis was a lost cause and should be put down. I now know what caused his distress, and how to deal with it. Otis has been a perfect gentleman with all the guests I've had lately. I've already referred Mark, and Connecticut K-9 to some Rottie friends and will continue to do so. It's comforting to know that there are professional trainers out there who are willing to work with the 'less than perfect' dog, and who see the potential these dogs have.

BoxerJust under a month ago I e-mailed Mark Renick @ Connecticut Canine after a desperate search for help w/ my boxer, Cody who was suffering from separation anxiety..  Mark is the east coast's Ceasar Milan.  He came, he saw the dog, he trained me & within four days - I couldn't believe it either - my dog was not as anxious, he behaved better and I felt alright about leaving him for the first time in weeks.  My own problem - guilt re: crating him, not letting him sleep in the bed, being stern w/ commands, making him "work for food & attention"  - took longer to go away than the dog's behavior problems.  I had to accept that it was not mean to put my injured dog in a crate and that he needed structure and be treated as a dog, not as my baby.  While it really is a struggle not to coddle & give into Cody's charm - it has been so worth it not to see a look of sheer panic on his face when he hears me get my keys and have to worry every minute until I return what he could have destroyed in the home or done to hurt himself any further.  I have recommended Mark to friends and will continue to do so.

I have 2 American Bulldogs that are over 80 lb. each.  They decided after 8 months or so that they did not like my daughter or each other for that matter.  I hired Mark.  Mark came to my home and within an hour trained my husband and myself the strategies we needed to change that.  My daughter (age 7) could not go anywhere near the dog.  After Mark left within the next two days my daughter was feeding, petting and playing with him.

She could not even enter the room he was in without him growling.  I contacted 5 or 6 other trainers that told me my dog needed to be put to sleep, that there was nothing they could do to help.  These trainers were licensed professional trainers that had been in the business for over 20 years.  We were willing to pay whatever was required to keep our dog and have him get along with our family.  For the amount of money we had to pay, he was above and beyond the solution to our problem.

He not only came to the house to interact with the dog, he also followed up with several phone calls and e-mails.  I could not recommend a more professional dog trainer.  He made us both feel as though we were dealing with a friend.  He treated our dog as though it were his own.

Sincerely
Wendy, Putnam  Connecticut

I first met Mark about 2-1/2 years ago, when I had rescued a very large German Shepherd import, Iron Duke IV. He was fully trained in English and German. He had been physically abused. We joined Mark's classes. It wasn't very long before you could see the great improvements Duke was making. I learned that the owner has to be trained also. Just before Mothers Day,2005 I lost Duke very suddenly to cancer. I am very great full to Mark for helping me have a wonderful, loving dog, if only for a short time.

After much searching I found out where Duke came from and was able to get one of his sisters puppy. Günter was 8 weeks old when we got him. He is now 6 months old and taking after his uncle in size and strength. So here I am, back to Mark for the help I know I need, so Günter can become a wonderful, friendly, but protective dog, that I can love for a long time. Mark has a way with any kind of dog. I have never met a dog trainer like him. 'THE BEST'

We just wanted to say how much we appreciate your help with  our 7 month old German Shepherd, Sarge. He is so much more respectful since you helped him and us with his training. I would refer you to any and everyone! Your website is also so helpful, especially with all the links. Thanks again.

Diana, Sean and of course Sarge, Naugatuck
