Police K9 Olympics

The K-9
Olympics is entering its 17th year. The event is a day long competition
involving K-9 units from local police departments, CT State Police, and
Department of Corrections. Teams are evaluated during a ring competition in an
arena style setting. Areas of competition include, but are not limited to,
obedience, obstacles, evidence recovery, building search, marksmanship, and an
apprehension drill. Also on display are the Connecticut State Police Emergency
Services Unit, Trooper 1 Helicopter, Department of Corrections CERT team,
narcotic and bomb detection dogs, and a variety of other police and animal
related services. Money raised through the sales of shirts and food, and from
donations, is returned to local charities. This year money raised will go to the
"CHIPS" Program and Shriners Children's Burn Centers.

Dog Day at the Pool
Bring your well-behaved dog to the pool for a day of swimming!!
After the outdoor pool closes for the summer, all
dog owners with their pets are welcome.
Swimming for dogs only.
All money collected will be used for the future
Rocky Hill dog park.

Novelty dog shows are increasingly popular events throughout the country drawing
thousands of dog enthusiasts each year. Wagapolooza will feature dozens of fun

In addition, join international dog disc and product manufacturer Skyhoundz and
thousands of spectators from the Northeast in supporting our own local club,
Yankee Flyers, as they host and compete in the The Disc Dog National Regional
Finals and the “Discdogathon.” This exciting two-day event will provide you
maximum exposure to the dog loving public. Hundreds of dogs and thousands of
their family members will descend upon the gorgeous Farmington Polo Grounds for
two days of dog socializing and competition.
